“Working for yourself” sounds a lot like “starting your own business” which can feel risky, formless and it requires a really good business idea – something that most of us don´t carry around in our back pocket.
But there is another choice: You can buy an existing business, right now, and run it as CEO. We call this entrepreneurship through acquisition.
On Tuesday, 5.11, you will hear more about how to become an entrepreneur through buying a company, what kind of possibilities there are in Finland and you will get answers to all the questions you may have regarding this topic.

The hosts: Mikko Järvinen and Gautam Basu
Gautam is an Executive in Residence at Aalto University’s School of Business. He has a background as a board member, investor, and operating executive for private equity. Previously, he was a management consulting partner for a Big 4 firm, specializing in performance improvement, transactions, and restructuring advisory. Gautam has successfully completed an entrepreneurship through acqusition deal in the U.S.
Mikko is a practitioner, author, and trainer in entrepreneurship. During his 10+ years as an entrepreneur, Mikko has started a number of companies, sold some, and closed some down. His master’s thesis for Aalto University’s School of Business provided a Finnish market feasibility study for search funds, a specific model of entrepreneurship through acquisition. Currently he is a Project Manager at Haaga-Helia Startup School.
