Event Details

Action Workshops give you practical skills to develop your business idea or ongoing business further.
To participate it would be good to have a business idea (but it isn’t compulsory).
You do not have to be a student at Haaga-Helia to participate workshops.
Please remember to register to attend!

Theme: How to Start a Business in Finland
Content: The workshop takes you through the practicalities of setting up a business entity in Finland. What is the process of registering a business entity in Finland? What are the reporting responsibilities, tax and pension liabilities included? How does setting up a business affect your residence permit status?
Coach: Elie El-Khouri
Elie El-Khouri has more than 10 years of experience as an authorized business adviser at NewCo-Helsinki (YritysHelsinki). Newco-Helsinki offers support and mentoring services to the new and already established entrepreneurs in Helsinki region. In recent years, approximately one third of their clients have been immigrants. El-Khouri is a construction engineer originally from Lebanon and he has been involved in many political, cultural and volunteer activities in Finland. Earlier he has worked as an entrepreneur in several fields as well as a project coordinator at Culminatum Innovation.
Elie El-Khouri believes that the three Characteristics of an Entrepreneur are Risk-Takers, Market Intuition and Big Picture.

Did you know that all Haaga-Helia students can also gain credits from attending Action Workshops?
